Jane's in a lecturing mood, so ...
It's Sunday and I am in a
lecturing mood so... I am going to give one to anyone who cares to
listen.
I am getting too many desperate letters from some of you who do not
really understand what a business on the net involves.
Here's a taste of what I got this morning.
"I joined a program 3 weeks ago and I haven't gotten anything back"
I wrote back Really? What are you doing to make this program work for
you?
I got another email; "I must make money Now from this program"
I wrote back:
"Really? Businesses, any
businesses don't work when you need to make money from them right now.
You need a business plan and a long term vision and time and some
capital to invest.
I got another email.
"How do I make money on the net?"
(I get al least 10 of these a day.)
I don't answer these because they are not serious.
Talking Turkey
Would you go into the restaurant business and open a restaurant
without knowing what the traffic would be to the location you picked
or what the cost of the lease was or how much it would take to
renovate the restaurant?
Would you sign a lease for a restaurant without running an income and
expense statement to know when you might expect to become profitable?
Would you go into a restaurant venture without the necessary capital
to see you through the first two or three years when you could expect
to run in the red?
Of course you wouldn't do this unless you were absolutely nuts.
Operating a Business on the net is no different than operating a
business in the real world except the cost of entry is much much
cheaper but here is what you need to get your head around
1) You need to learn your craft, in this case marketing.
This means getting your hands on every book you can read and going to
every tele-seminar that interests you.
If you are not willing to learn the business, you will not be in
business for long.
2) You need to build a list.
Building a list takes time but it is critical to your long term
success and you must learn how to do this
You can listen to a conference on list building right here:
http://www.c9e.com/jane-11-09-05.mp3
Note the first five minutes has some tech difficulties but get past
that into the meat of it.
3) You need to follow up with each and every person who joins
you in a program
This means a personal email or phone call to each of your downline
members. You must do this if you want to make your business grow.
If you missed my talk on effective advertising. Here it is again.

4) Focus. You must focus your attention on the programs you
join and hone in on them like a laser beam.
This means you cannot join dozens
of programs and succeed. Join one at a time and work on them until
they are producing the income you want from them and then go onto the
next.
It's Sunday.
Take a couple of hours today and do some homework.
Phil and I are always ready to help people who really want help in
growing your online businesses but you have a job first and that is to
learn about what you are doing and develop your craft.
You probably know that 95% of the people who start any business off or
online will fail.
It is not because those who succeed are smarter or richer or more
blessed. They simply work harder and smarter than anyone else and
they never stop learning and they never stop asking questions
and above all they NEVER give up.
I would like to see all of you in the 5% success rate.
Are you willing to do what it takes?
Okay end of lecture.
Have a great Sunday
I will get off my soap box tomorrow but for today I really do want you
all to succeed on the net.
Make the real commitment it takes to do this.
I want to read about your success stories and they will happen if you
persist.
All the best
Jane
