Practice what you preach

I ran a small experiment recently. A very successful
experiment, I might add.
As you may recall, In chapter 5 of my ebook, the 'Contact List Builder', I detail, step by step, how to gather leads
using FFA lists. I also use a similar technique with safelists - free and pro.
The results from my experiment were most interesting and reaffirmed what I teach in my ebook.
I sent a simple ad out to a few safelists that I belong to. I didn't track each individual safelist, although
it is easy enough to do (we'll get into that later).
I was testing the method I use in my ebook with the subject 'Contact me'. It's always a good idea to
freshen your contact list on a regular basis.
I edited the ad a bit to look like this:
SUBJECT
Contact Information Request
BODY:
Please confirm your acceptance to receive an email from
me regarding business services that I offer. I am also
open to hear about your business or business services.

This little ad, sent out to 10 safelists, returned 48 fresh NEW
contacts to my inbox! These are people who wrote to me requesting that I please contact them. I'd also like to add
that I have already made contact with several and we are beginning to build that ever important business relationship.
You will notice that when I sent this email out to the safelists, I
chose not to use an autoresponder address. You can use one if you wish, they are very effective, but I prefer the more personal
contact. You can always add your new contacts to your autoresponder list manually so they begin to receive
your automated series.
I like to send relevant information to my contact list, share new resources I come across, let them know what
is working for me, find out what is working for them.
Remember, your contact list is vital and is not only a place for you to give information but a place for
you to learn. These people all have experience, be it long or short term.
People appreciate good, useful information. Think of your contact list as if it is a person, a single
person that you are working with. Share what you know,
encourage your contacts to do the same. An important relationship just might develop.
